Sean O’Connell showed once again why he is considered to be the P4P king of staredowns at the UFC Boston weigh-ins on Saturday.
The American light-heavyweight is scheduled to take on Swedish striker Ilir Latifi at Fight Night 81 and as we’ve come to expect from O’Connell, he had prepared something special for the obligatory staredown.
As the two fighters stepped forward to take part in the tradition for the cameras, O’Connell gave the “one-second” signal with his finger, grabbed a bouquet of flowers and presented them to the man he hopes to beat seven shades of shite out of in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Latifi also had a trick up his sleeve though. The Swede picked up a bag of what appears to be sweets (feel free to berate me if I got the snack food type wrong) and offered some to O’Connell who gladly accepted.
It’s hard to believe that roughly 24 hours after this happened, these two will be trying to render each other unconscious inside a cage.
