Penalties are very much the talk of this Champions League quarter final night.
Over in Madrid, Leicester City were on the wrong end of a particularly harsh call which allowed Antoine Griezmann to give them a first half lead – even though Marc Albrighton’s foul on the French international was clearly outside of the Leicester box.
Over in Munich, Madrid’s other team were already a goal down to Bayern when the home side were given the opportunity to double their advantage in first half stoppage time.
Arturo Vidal, scorer of the game’s only goal, stepped up for it… but failed miserably in his attempts to send the German champions into half-time with a two goal lead.
Opting for power over placement, the Chilean sent the ball high and not so handsome over the Real crossbar.
After two legs, perhaps this will be something the the German champions will look back on.
Oh dear… Vidal blasts high and wide from the spot! #FCBRMA 🙈🙈🙈 pic.twitter.com/BTDIDVpVpK
