When football fans become irritated at their own team, there are a few standard ways they can vent their frustration.
They might voice their discontent by way of a chorus of boos, or by calling for the manager to be sacked. If they’ve got a bit more time on their hands, they might even go to the trouble of making a banner.
In the south of France, however, things are a little different.
Marseille fans are sick to the back teeth of their team’s languid displays, with the former European champions currently 14th in Ligue 1 and without a win in their last nine matches.
To make their feelings known, they’d prepared several banners depicting goats (une chèvre is a term the French use to describe players that are a bit crap) which they paraded in the iconic Stade Vélodrome, accompanied by the Benny Hill theme tune.
Creative? Yes. Weird? Yes. Hilarious? Most definitely.
