He’s been dishing out nutmegs to many an opponent for over a decade now, but on Friday October 14, 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo was given a taste of his own medicine.
The Real Madrid number seven was in training with his teammates ahead of Saturday’s trip to Real Betis, when Danilo threaded the ball through his legs in a rondo… much to the delight of Marcelo.
Although the camera angle doesn’t allow us to see Ronaldo’s face at first, his body language when the rondo breaks down suggests he’s not too chuffed about being on the wrong end of a ‘megging. After a brief discussion with Marcelo, Ronaldo is then seen blasting the ball in the direction of the press box, allegedly telling members of the media: “Now you have material to talk about for the next two days.”

And there we were, thinking Cristiano would be able to laugh such an incident off.
Real head into the game in Seville off the back of three consecutive draws in the league. Despite the dropped points, they’re still up near the summit of the Spanish top flight, level on 15 points with table-topping city rivals Atletico, trailing them only by goal difference.
Barcelona, their other great rivals, currently sit in fourth with 13 points.
