This is difficult to watch.
A play-off tie between DCMP and Dauphin Noir at the weekend ended in brutality as match officials were attacked by a large group of pitch-invading DCMP supporters.
As the referee tried to sprint to safety, he had his legs swept from under him by a tackle before being savagely beaten by the assailants.
Riot police rushed to the pitch to protect the officials, at least one of which was unable to walk from the pitch and required a stretcher.
The so-called “fans” also caused substantial damage to the stadium, smashing up seats and breaking windows at the stadium’s main entrance.
There’s no place for this in football.
