Elise Christie was taken to hospital after crashing out of her latest race at the Winter Olympics.
The speed skater was competing in the 1500m semi-finals in PyeongChang, when she collided with China’s Li Jinyu on the final bend of the race. The pair crashed out, with Christie receiving medical treatment on the ice before eventually being taken away on a stretcher.
This followed the disappointment of Tuesday, when Christie crashed out of the 500m final.

The Scot was disqualified in all three finals in the Sochi Games four years ago.
She had hoped to compete in the 1000m heats in a matter of days. Although it’s unclear how severe her injuries are at this stage, this could end her hopes of leaving South Korea with an Olympic medal.
