Great Britain’s men stormed to 4x100m victory in front of a home crowd in the London Stadium on Saturday night.
Clocking a new British record time of 36:47 – the third fastest of all time – the British team beat a much-fancied American team into second place, with Japan finishing in the bronze medal position.
It was a phenomenal performance from all four British runners: an explosive start from CJ Ujah was followed by a strong second leg from Adam Gemili. Danny Talbot then ran a flawless bend on leg three before Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake managed to see off 100m silver medallist Christian Coleman to seal an historic gold.

Unfortunately, the Jamaican team did not finish the race. Usain Bolt, in his final ever race, pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury having received the baton for the final leg.
The final leg of the relay can be seen in the footage below.
