UFC 151 – Jon Jones refused a short notice replacement in Chael Sonnen after Dan Henderson pulled out of the main event with an injury.
It resulted in the first time in UFC history that the promotion cancelled an entire pay-per-view.
And although there is no danger that UFC 197 will be cancelled if Jones isn’t fighting on the card, ‘Bones’ still wants a fight.
The light heavyweight title fight/grudge rematch scheduled for UFC 197 fell apart when Daniel Cormier was forced out of the bout with an injury.
And after sending the champion his best wishes for a healthy recovery, Jones has revealed, in no uncertain terms, that he wants the UFC to find him a new opponent for the April 23 card.
‘Bones’ has even offered up his services to heavyweights as he aims to ensure a bout to thank his fans for the support he received throughout a difficult 12 months which has seen him stripped of his 205lb title, suspended from the roster and embroiled in numerous legal wrangles.

“Hey ya’ll know I’m not into taking last minute fights,” Jones said on Instagram. “It’s not the way me and my trainers do things but this last year has been real crazy and I feel like I owe my fans so much.
“So UFC, whether you’ve got a heavyweight, light heavyweight, it doesn’t matter. Let’s keep this main event going. Send them my way.”
We can’t wait.
