What a steal!
It’s never easy joining a world famous institution like Liverpool Football Club, especially if you’re a young striker. Many a talented forward – both prospects and seasoned professionals – have buckled under the pressure of wearing the famous red jersey. It takes an elite mentality to prosper under so much scrutiny and pressure, but it seems that the Reds’ newest frontman was born to do it.
In a close season of mega-money transfers, Dominic Solanke’s move from Chelsea to Liverpool for around £3m (tbc via tribunal) went largely unnoticed outside of Stamford Bridge and Anfield. But whilst others spurge tens of millions on far bigger names, the talented teenager may turn out to be one of the bargains of the summer. Certainly his goal against Hertha Berlin points to that.
The broad-shouldered 19-year-old scored Liverpool’s first goal in the pre-season friendly against the Germans on Saturday afternoon, and took his chance with supreme assurance. Adam Lallana’s lofted pass showed vision and accuracy but the England youngster had plenty to do. Straining his neck muscles to maximum effect, he generated all his own power to loft the ball over the goalkeeper.
GOAL!

You might ask, 'are you tired of people saying 'Goalanke' every time Dominic Solanke scores?' and I would reply 'absolutely not'
