Watch the first goal of the Premier League season as Hull shock champions Leicester

We are off and running in the Premier League

Rob Burnett

They’ve got hardly any players, no their manager left just weeks before the start of the season and they’ve been tipped by almost everyone for relegation.

But that didn’t stop Hull City from stunning Leicester but taking the lead in the first match of the 2016/17 season.

As the first half was drawing to a close, the Tigers pounced in injury time to give themselves the lead at the KCOM Stadium.

And if you’re reading on a mobile and in the UK, you can see the goal here:

At first it was awarded to Abel Hernandez, but replays proved Adama Diomande was actually the man who had kicked off the new season’s goal tally.

Immediately after the break the champions hit back to equalise from a penalty when Riyad Mahrez scored from the spot.

Hull would not be kept down though, and Robert Snodgrass restored the Tigers’ lead with a wonderful strike into the bottom corner.

Cue and entirely accurate chant from the Hull fans about them being top of the league.
