Why just toss the legs to one side when you can backflip into side control?
We’ve seen a lot of things in the cage over the years, but we’ve never seen anything like this before.
Dzhihad Yunusov is not a household name by any means but you’ll definitely want to remember the name after the Russian came up with an ridiculous display of athleticism at an Akhmat Fight Show event on Saturday night.
Yunusov was taking on Konstantin Veselkin at the event and when presented with the chance to enter a ground exchange with his opponent, Yunusov decided to do so in style.

Yunusov unexpectedly leaped through the air and gymnastically backflipped over Veselkin’s legs to land in side control in what has to be among the most unique and impressive solutions we’ve ever seen in an MMA fight.
And he’s not just a glorified gymnast, Yunusov also displayed some elite grappling skills by submitting his out-matched opponent via Ezekiel choke from guard.
Still, we’d not advise him to give it a go in UFC in a hurry.

Impressive stuff.
