Watch Zinedine Zidane’s son emulate his old man with Panenka spot-kick

A chip off the old block

Making your own way in the game is tough enough for a young professional footballer, but when your dad’s been one of the greatest ever players to have walked the face of the earth, there’s probably a little more expectation weighing on your shoulders.

That’s the case with young Enzo Zidane, son of legendary French midfielder, Zinedine.

With his old man now coaching Real Madrid’s first team, 21-year-old Enzo is plying his trade in the European Champions’ Castilla side.

While it’s unlikely that the youngster’s career will scale the same heights of that of his father, comparisons between the two were made on Saturday afternoon when he emulated a famous penalty his dad took ten years ago.

We all remember this one, don’t we?

Admittedly, dinking home a Panenka penalty in a reserve match against Socuéllamos probably isn’t quite as impressive as doing when faced by Gianluigi Buffon in front of a viewing audience of billions in a World Cup final,  but given his famous surname, Enzo risked looking a bit of a mug if he ballsed this one up.

Cool as you like. All that remained now was to nut an opposition defender in the chest and retire from the game with immediate effect.
