Steven Gerrard won’t be heading back to Anfield on loan this winter, according to LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena.
The succinct Arena also ruled out a return to Europe for Robbie Keane.
Considering the 35-year-old Republic of Ireland captain hasn’t enjoyed a loan spell on this side of the Atlantic since a seven-game stint with Aston Villa in 2012 that isn’t too surprising.
Gerrard had hinted during his many, many media interviews back in September that he might be open to a return to Anfield but Arena shut down all talk of loan moves for his biggest stars with a one-word answer.

The defending champions relinquished their grip on the MLS Cup when beaten 3-2 by Clint Dempsey’s Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference play-off.
It was another prolific season for captain Keane, however, who netted 20 goals in 24 MLS matches for Galaxy, and his efforts were certainly appreciated by his manager.
"We need more Robbie Keanes."
