It makes a refreshing change from “Shat on…” we suppose.
Gary Lineker has nearly 5 million followers on Twitter – F-I-V-E million. That’s a lot of people to take exception to practically every tweet he ever posts. He could wish everyone a good morning and many would dispute both the pleasantness of the AM and indeed the time of day. And of course the vast majority would simply declare ‘Shat on morning’.
Following a lacklustre victory by Germany over a spirited Northern Ireland – whose keeper Michael McGovern had a stormer by the way – Lineker wasn’t exactly enthralled by Joachim Low’s mean. That said, he did concede that few of the tournament favourites had looked particularly impressive…
Germany not looking great so far, then who is really apart from Spain?

It was a passing remark that was asking for trouble. Not because it wasn’t a valid point, or that it was in any way incorrect about either Germany or Spain; more that it was a subjective comment on a tournament full of proud nations with deeply patriotic supporters.
And no set of fans have more reason to be proud of their side than the Welsh. They’ve qualified ahead of England at the top of Group B, with both Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey looking in fine form. And of course they were keen to clarify the point to poor Gary…
WALES,GARY?
