Many Welsh football fans will have been nursing sore heads as they woke on Sunday morning.
It’s been over half a century since their national side qualified for a major football tournament, but finally, the wait is over.
Despite defeat in Bosnia, a shock win for Cyprus over Israel was enough to guarantee the Welsh their place in France for next summer’s European championships.
It’s a fantastic achievement, especially when considering that not so long ago, some clearly thought that today was a day that would never ever arrive.
The tweet below illustrates this perfectly.
The attached image shows a Facebook post from talkSPORT, questioning whether the Welsh should give up on their hopes of ever qualifying for a major tournament.
We can expect this to rack up a few retweets.
