Wilfried Zaha has accused Manchester United and Liverpool fans of directing racial slurs towards him on social media.
The Crystal Palace winger was playing against West Brom in Hong Kong, in the Asia Trophy pre-season tournament on Saturday, and made the accusation following the game.
He claimed on Instagram that fans of the two Premier League clubs called him a “black monkey.”
Zaha, who was a United player between 2013 and 2015, wrote:
“If Man United and Liverpool fans feel better by calling me a black monkey in my messages… feel free to carry on if it makes your day better.”
He has since deleted the post from his Instagram page.
