Miguel Herrera made the headlines last summer for his sideline antics as the manager of the Mexican national team.
Maybe you remember him.
Well, now he’s in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, having been sacked for allegedly punching journalist Christian Martinoli in the neck.
As the team were returning to Mexico after their victory at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Herrera caught up with his critic Martinoli and assaulted him in the security line.
This might not have been such a big deal had it been another manager, but considering Herrera’s capacity to go saiyan at the drop of hat, maybe sacking him was the right idea.
We can only hope that this frees up Herrera’s schedule so that he has time to manage in a league where we can watch him utterly lose his mind on a weekly basis.
