Yaya Toure could be forgiven for finding it tougher than most to identify his greatest ever team-mate.
With title-winning Barcelona and Manchester City sides on his CV, and having played against elite opponents for many years, picking out Toure’s toughest opponent also ought to be a difficult task.
But one man ticks both boxes for the Ivorian midfielder – Lionel Messi.
In an interview with BT Sport, Toure picked out the Argentine – who he played with in Barcelona’s 2009 Champions League final victory, as the most talented player with whom he has played.
Ronaldinho came close to Messi in that category, but when it came to Toure’s toughest opponent he found it tough to look past Messi’s display last season as the Catalan club eliminated Man City from Europe.
