David Cameron and Ed Miliband faced a TV grilling on Thursday evening in the Battle for Number 10 election debates hosted by Channel 4 and Sky News.
The Prime Minister said he wants an economy “that does not just look good on the page”, but tried to sit on the fence when asked about Jeremy Clarkson’s BBC exit, telling interviewer Jeremy Paxman: “He’s a friend, he’s a talent. The BBC have made their decision and it’s right for them.”
Meanwhile, Ed Miliband won approval for declaring “Hell yes, I’m tough enough” to take on the big job, as well as promising to “save the NHS” and solve the “cost of living crisis”.

Thought #BattleForNumber10 was going to be a football documentary about the game's greats.

Paxman's really enjoying this, isn't he? #BattleForNumber10

I'm not sure that 'Hell yes I'm tough enough' is the right catchphrase for Ed. #BattleForNumber10

The fact @JeremyPaxman uses the tube has been the most interesting fact of the evening #BattleForNumber10
