Ryan Giggs wore a lot of kits during his 23-years playing for Manchester United.
An awful lot.
Some were good.
Some were bad.
And some were just very forgettable.
You might think choosing a favourite from such an extensive list would be a tough task, but Giggs had no hesitation when asked during a recent interview for Sport magazine.
“It was probably one of my first, it was a bit quirky. It was 1992/93, where it had strings along the collar,” the former United winger.
United would have great success while wearing the kit, winning their first league title in 26-years in 1993 and the league and FA Cup double the following season.
Giggs also reserved special mention for the special European kit the club wore between 1997 and 2000, the jersey United wore when they won the Champions League in 1999.
“I also like the 1999 Champions League kit. I must have played in about 50 kits, so it’s hard to narrow it down to the favourites. Probably the early days, and then kits that mean a lot to you – ones you’ve won something in.”
Giggs made his league debut for United in 1991 and didn’t finally hang up his well worn boots until the end of the 2014 season.
