We think we know why Wayne Rooney’s son Kai is training with hated rivals City

Lose a keeper, gain a keeper?

When even the club captain is taking his son to the noisy neighbours maybe it is time to have a look at your academy.

Kai Rooney has been training with the Manchester City Under-7s (yeah, we know) and while a source told the Daily Mail that the boy has no set position, we all remember where Kai dreamed of playing.

Yes, like Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, Kai Rooney is keen on being a goalkeeper. Ew!

Perhaps that is why Wazza has followed in the footsteps of United players Darren Fletcher, Phil Neville and Robin Van Persie by allowing his own flesh and blood to train at City’s state of the art academy.

Look at the defensive shambles that is Pep Guardiola’s City at present. Joe Hart turfed out to Turin, Claudio Bravo keen to head back to Spain after it became apparent to everyone with eyes that he doesn’t really save shots.

That crafty United and England captain has sent his flesh and blood to City to scare him off being a goalkeeper.

There is no point having him look up to David de Gea, you will never get the gloves off him.
