It’s not Christmas until there is some drama on Albert Square.
EastEnders has just released its Christmas trailer which shows some very interesting storylines to come. While the festivies are in full swing the teaser shows a much darker side.
Phil Mitchell continues to struggle while his health deteriorates with hints throughout the teaser that he might be about to die. At one point, Dot Branning says to Phil, “God be with you. That means goodbye,” hinting at a possible end to Phil’s life.
The teaser also suggests that Lucy Beale has returned from the dead.
Lucy’s death was one of the biggest storylines on the show to date. It featured a drawn out search for the person who killed her.
It was later found out that Lucy was killed by her 11-year-old half brother Bobby.
In the Christmas teaser Lucy’s dad, Ian, can be seen opening a present with a tag attached to it which reads, “Merry Christmas love Lucy”.
