Swiss millionaire’s son ‘torched his Ferrari’ so his rich dad would buy him a new one

Why would you do this?

Hands up who thinks the lad who had his Ferarri torched should go without pocket money for a month.

Yes you did read that correctly – a 20-year-old Swiss millionaire’s son paid three guys $15,000 to ‘steal’ and burn out his Ferarri 458 Italia, according to reports.

The reason he wanted the £150,000 supercar destroyed? So he could get an upgrade, a court was told. Honestly.

According to the New York Daily News, the car was one of 15 – including a Lamborghini – which the 20-year-old’s rich father had bought for him.

He had also given his son a £20m property portfolio and a $6,500-a-month allowance.

Despite this, the lad had some friends steal his supercar, drive it over the German border and set fire to it while he visited a massage parlour – but security camera quickly picked up who was responsible.

He was sentenced to 22 months’ probation and fined some £20,000. We think the judge should have made him drive a Nissan Micra from now on as punishment.
