Breakfast, we are repeatedly told, is the most important meal of the day.
Nowhere does it seem to be taken more seriously than on the cobbles, where one observant Coronation Street viewer spotted it taking three hours in Roy’s cafe.
Spotters badge goes to Kevin here.

Being the diligent organ of important current affairs that we are, we decided to forensically factcheck this and it stands up.
In last night’s episode Johnny Connor and Jenny Bradley are seen discussing his plans to retire over breakfast and then quizzing Roy for his informed opinion.
Cue a classic Roy tangent about the word ‘golf’ being used as a verb.
As you can see from the pic below the clock over Roy’s left shoulder clearly shows it’s 9am. A fairly standard breakfasting time. But then…
When the scene cuts back to Roy’s cafe Johnny and Jenny are just finishing up and heading out.
Then…
… immediately after which the clock can be clearly seen to be just after midday.
Now this could just be a minor continuity error. Or one of the longest breakfasts in televisual history. Needless to say, we’ve been left wondering what on earth Johnny and Jenny were doing for all that time.
Another one of the great unresolved Corrie mysteries for the ages.
