Including an Irish manager...

Jurgen Klopp has impressed and charmed almost everyone during his short time as Liverpool manager.

Klopp has become such an integral figure in the Premier League it seems like he’s been around for years.

The German only arrived at Anfield in October 2015, following the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers. It looks like he’s at the club for the long haul.

Klopp’s contract runs until 2022 and there’s been no suggestion that he needs that long to build a team in his image.

The current Liverpool team are a relentless attacking machine, and appear to be a side that will play a key part in the destination of titles and trophies over the next few seasons.

Over his first 50 games, Klopp has won more points in the Premier League than any previous Liverpool manager.

Klopp’s side have gained 92 points from his 50 games in-charge. Only seven managers have gained more points in their first 50 games in Premier League management.

Jose Mourinho has the most of any manager at that stage.

The current Manchester United boss gained 126 points from his first 50 games during his first spell as Chelsea manager between 2004 and 2007.

Another former Chelsea coach, Carlo Ancelotti, also had an impressive record at that stage of his career in England.

Alex Ferguson is fourth for this particular statistic, and former a former Republic of Ireland international also ranks high.

David O’Leary, the former Leeds United manager, gained 100 points in his first 50-games in the dugout. O’Leary managed the club between 1998 and 2002.

The former Irish defender hasn’t worked in English football since being sacked by Aston Villa in 2006.

Interestingly, Louis van Gaal, the former Manchester United manager, has two points more than Klopp after 50 games.
