“I can’t mess this up for him.”
Adele is renowned as an accomplished live performer, but for the second year in a row, things didn’t exactly go to plan when she sang live at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
Performing a cover of ‘Fast Love’ in tribute to George Michael, who passed away on Christmas Day last year, Adele halted the song shortly after starting it, swore, made her apologies and instructed the band to start it all over again.

“I can’t mess this up for him,” Adele said, before starting into the song again, which went much better second time around and moved the singer to tears.

A fitting tribute to a music legend.
Well played, Adele.
