A ten-year-old boy has died after a heavy piece of furniture fell on top of him in a Topshop store.
According to The Telegraph, the incident happened in the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading, Berks, at around 4pm on Monday.
The Thames Valley Police branch has launched an investigation into his death.
Early reports, which are unconfirmed for now, suggest he pulled a barrier down, causing serious injuries.
He was immediately rushed to nearby Royal Berkshire hospital but passed away an hour later.
A police statement released on the child’s death reads:
 “We were called by the South Central Ambulance  Service at around 4.15pm this afternoon to a retail store at the Oracle shopping centre, Reading.
“On attendance they found that a 10-year-old boy had suffered serious head injuries after an incident involving store furniture.
“The boy was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where sadly he was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed.
“At this time the death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious and police are making further inquiries.”
