Mary Berry reveals she wasn’t prepared to take any sh*t over one particular aspect of Great British Bake Off

Mary Berry's taking no prisoners...

Just keep it to-f*****g-gether.

The moment Mary Berry performed whatever the baking equivalent of a mic drop is and quit the Great British Bake Off, our enthusiasm for the show waned.

It just won’t be the same without the Helen Mirren of marzipan, and we’re not sure anyone can fill her shoes when the show moves over to Channel 4 later this year.

But it seems there’s one thing Mary won’t miss and that’s the contestants who let their emotions get the better of them over a stupid trifle that just won’t set probably (do trifles even set? We’re out of our depth here).

In an interview with Radio Times, the 81-year-old explained her frustration saying that in life you can’t just burst into tears, no matter what has happened to your cake.

Although you might want to, crying just isn’t an option on television according to Mary.

While she acknowledged that life can be tough and get on top of us all, you “have to gather yourself up and keep going”.

Basically the GBBO queen is a walking, talking ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ sign.

Have you ever cried over a cake? Or even a sausage roll? Get in touch and let us know.
