Gary Neville scores “best ever goal” in charity game and it’s an absolute beauty

What a touch

Gary Neville doesn’t have many goals to look back on.

Seven goals in 602 Manchester United appearances and a grand total of zero goals in his 85 games for the England national team confirms what you already know… Neville was never much of a goal threat.

The legendary United right-back seldom found himself in the opposition box as he made the right flank of Old Trafford his home.

But it seems that Neville has found his goalscoring touch in his retirement years.

The ex-Red Devils captain was not on his usual Sky Sports beat last weekend as he was in Singapore with former teammate Ryan Giggs to celebrate the launch of Cafe Football Singapore.

“United have been a bit up and down,” Neville said at the event, via Goal. “They’ve been inconsistent. They’ve dropped many points but I think the next couple of months will determine if the season was successful or not. It all depends on whether United can get into the Champions League.”

After speaking, Neville enjoyed a kickabout and what a kickabout it was as the former full-back scored an unforgettable goal which he has announced as his best ever.

To be fair, it’s a pretty small sample size but that’s not to take away from the golazo because Eric Cantona would have been proud of that beauty.
