Zlatan Ibrahimovic posts a message of defiance for anyone thinking his career is over

Just the sort of thing we'd expect from him...

Typical of the man.

Since damaging knee ligaments in stoppage time of Manchester United’s Europa League quarter final against Anderlecht last week, the future has looked very uncertain for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His season is certainly over, and with no extension to his one-year deal with United agreed, some have suggested his time at Old Trafford may also be up. Worse still, there’s also been speculation that, because of the nature of the injury and the age of the player, his career may also be over.

Now though, in the first social media post from the 35-year-old since picking up the injury, he has made perfectly clear that this will not be the end of his playing days.

Having thanked supporters for the messages of support and well wishes, Ibrahimovic writes in a post on Instagram that he will ‘come back even stronger’ from the injury. He writes: ‘I will go through this like everything else and come back even stronger. So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem. One thing is for sure, I decide when it’s time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option.’

Exactly the kind of thing we’d expect from the man, to be honest.
