As ‘AJ’ puts the finishing touches on his preparation for the biggest bout of his career, he’s been inundated with well-wishes from his dedicated supporters, one of whom happens to be none other than Dr. Dre.
Ahead of Saturday night’s clash with Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley, where Joshua’s IBF heavyweight title will be on the line as well as the vacant WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight championships, the London 2012 gold medallist was surprised with a video call from the man who brought you such legendary rap albums as The Chronic and 2001.

“Oh shit!” Joshua exclaimed at the unexpected sight of Dr. Dre on his laptop screen.
“My G! Come on bro. We’re going to handle business.
“You’re one of my favourite musicians – Straight Outta Compton, that film you did. It’s unbelievable what you’ve been doing.”
There are certainly perks to having Beats by Dre as an official fight sponsor but we think everyone can admit that it’s fantastic seeing a superstar of Joshua’s calibre so starstruck in the presence of hip hop royalty.
