Maximus Decimus Meridius has spoken.
It’s not easy being a Leeds United fan, now there’s an understatement!
Relegation, boardroom instability, managerial sackings and a revolving door policy with players have been some of the constant features of life at Elland Road as the patience of their fans has been severely tested.
It has been an eventful 15 years since their famous Champions League semi-final, so much so that the club seems tailor made for a film adaptation.
It’s hard to settle on what type of film their journey would be though because there has been tragedy, triumph, unintentional comedy, mystery at boardroom level and drama aplenty – and all this before Massimo Cellino even arrived.
It appears that Russell Crowe has been a long term fan of the club and the actor – who currently owns Rugby League side Sydney Rabbitohs –Â was even linked with a possible takeover.
Sadly for Leeds fans it appears that Crowe won’t be taking over. Does this mean that he’s going to be fightin’ around the world with his best friend Tugger? Possibly.
Don’t worry though Leeds fans…Â you’ll have your vengeance, in this life or the next.
