The film has definitely beenĀ better received thanĀ Batman v Superman…
The long-awaited Wonder Woman movie is finally here. And perhaps the most surprising thing about it has been how good the reviews have been so far. The other movies in the DC movie universe (Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad) have been, well, divisive, to say the least. But Wonder Woman has been very well received by both critics and fans (itās currently got 94% on Rotten Tomatoes).
So talk has naturally turned to the sequel ā and thereās one big obvious question people will be asking. Unlike the other DC movies Wonder Woman is a period piece, set in World War I. Will the sequel keep that time setting?
And now we know the answer. In a profile in The Hollywood Reporter, star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins reveal that the sequel will be set in the modern day. So thereās no time jump to World War II or anything, like a few fans have suggested.
This of course is reminiscent of the move from the WWII-set Captain America: The First Avenger, and the modern-day The Winter Soldier. And The Winder Soldier is generally regarded as one of the very superhero movies or recent years, so it seems like a good move.
