Why didn’t we think of that?
Pitching a four-person tent that you bought on the cheap in the middle of the day seems like a good idea at the time. You plot out surrounding landmarks so that when it turns dark, you and your pals can easily navigate their way back to base.
However, fast forward a couple of hours and add in the fact that a couple of drinks may be on board and your unique tent has blended in with the other thousands in the field.
Now, you could partake in a quick game of zip and check where you scan all the tents in your area, have a quick peek inside and if it’s not yours, hope that nobody was inside at the time… or you could download a brand new app called Tent Finder.
The app, created by outdoors company Boutique Camping, lets you mark where you pitch your tent using GPS, meaning it’s saved as a pin on your phone map meaning you can stroll back to camp when you’ve finally decided that it’s time for a snooze.
As well as marking your tent location, the app can also pinpoint other unique spots during your time at the festival including a meet-up spot when all your friends have lost each other as well marking the nearest bar and toilet for you a quick get in, get the job done and get out.
You can also synchronise your map with your friends map so if they manage to find the nearest bar and/or toilet before you do, it will automatically appear on your phone anyway.
It seems like this will be very popular especially among regular festival goers but for the moment it is only available for iPhone and not for Android.
