Liverpool’s transfer activity could pave the way for Adnan Januzaj’s move to Italy

Despite a promising start to his Old Trafford career, Januzaj could be on his way

Despite plenty of early promise at Manchester United, it seems Adnan Januzaj’s Old Trafford future is looking bleak.

The Belgian, who was a rare positive during David Moyes’ stint in charge of the club, doesn’t appear to be in Jose Mourinho’s first team picture after his season-long loan at Sunderland.

Now, according to reports, Liverpool’s transfer plans could pave the way for his next move.

Over recent weeks, Jürgen Klopp has been attempting to close a deal for former Chelsea winger, Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international, currently plying his trade at AS Roma, is expected to make the move to Anfield if and when the two clubs can agree a fee for the player.

With Salah out of the door, it’s being reported that Roma see Januzaj as a potential replacement.

A report by DhNet in Belgium claims that Monchi, the Italian club’s director of football, is keeping tabs on Januzaj with a view to taking him to the Eternal City – possibly as a replacement for Salah.

Januzaj’s current contract with United is due to expire in 2018. As well as reported interest from Roma, Real Sociedad are also said to be keen on taking the 22-year-old to Spain.

United completed their first signing of the summer on Wednesday with Swedish defender Victor Lindelöf joining the club from Benfica.
