The knives are out for Dutch forward Wesley Sneijder – as the 30-year-old lends his name and club colours to a set of kitchen utensils.
The Süper Lig player looks to have entered into a collaboration with Netherlands-based company Senvi, who promise future products with a similar footballing twist.
The firm’s website is also offering the opportunity to win a meet-and-greet with the perennial Manchester United target, presumably with the player’s consent.
Wesley Sneijder is of course far more accustomed to carving open defences than slicing up meat or deboning fish.
The 8-piece set comes in the famous red and yellow colours of Galatasaray, and as such has attracted criticism for being in poor taste.
It is almost 15 years to the day that fans of the Turkish club stabbed two Leeds United supporters before their UEFA Cup clash in 2000.
