Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini to take legal action after ‘false stories’ are published

Paul Moore

The Belgian announced the news on Twitter.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has contacted his lawyers after a ‘false story’ about the Belgian was published over the weekend.

On the field, the former Everton player was not included in Manchester United’s match-day squad for their trip to Stoke after he picked up a minor calf injury over the international break.

Despite the fact that he didn’t feature against Stoke, Mourinho said that his side missed the Belgian’s aerial presence.

“They could only score on counter-attack or set pieces. They score one goal on counter and one goal on set-pieces and for both we knew that it could be possible, even for such a defensive team, they have good qualities. This was a game for Fellaini and then on the set-pieces we would be more dominant than we were, we didn’t have much time after the 2-1 to kill the game because if we have a little bit more minutes with the result at 2-1 I think they have more pace for us and we kill the game,” he said.

Aside from these comments by Mourinho, Fellaini’s name has also appeared in Sunday’s papers after various outlets linked the Belgian, and three other players, with the woman that was in car with Wayne Rooney at the time of his recent arrest.

Taking to Twitter, the Belgian appears to have addressed these specific reports by saying: ” Most of the time I do not comment on the false stories written about me, but today is enough and I have instructed my lawyers.”

Plenty of Fellaini’s followers believe that his tweet is in reference to these specific stories.

In case you’re wondering what the extract states, here’s how The Sun reported it.

Rooney party girl Laura Simpson enjoyed a night out with his ex team-mate Marouane Fellaini.

But their budding romance had its chips when she dropped a Big Mac into his pool.

The Sun on Sunday can reveal Man United midfielder Fellaini is one of four players linked to single mum Laura, 29, besides Rooney.

Recalling their night at Fellaini’s £4million mansion, Laura told a mate: “We got a McDonald’s on the way back. We were messing around in the swimming pool.

I got my Big Mac out, took a bite and the rest of the burger slid out and fell into the water. I was mortified and he was really angry.
