“The lyrics used in the chant are offensive and discriminatory.”
Manchester United have been contacted about a “racist” chant sung by fans about Romelu Lukaku. According to The Times, anti-discrimination group Kick It Out have contacted the club about the song which refers to the size of Lukaku’s penis, after a video emerged of the chant during last week’s Champions League tie against FC Basel at Old Trafford.
The chat is sung to the to tune of Made of Stone, a song by Mancunian band the Stone Roses. It goes:
“Romelu Lukaku, he’s our Belgian scoring genius with a 24-inch penis, scoring all our goals, bellend by his toes.”

Scott Patterson, a United blogger, called on fans to “bin” the new chant, labelling it “drivel that belongs in the 1980s” and now Kick It Out have condemned it.
“Kick It Out is aware of footage of alleged racist chanting by supporters of Manchester United that emerged on Wednesday evening,” a spokesperson for the organisation said on Tuesday.
“The lyrics used in the chant are offensive and discriminatory. Racist stereotypes are never acceptable in football or wider society, irrespective of any intention to show support for a player. We have contacted Manchester United regarding the issue and will be working closely with them and the FA to ensure that it is addressed swiftly. If we receive any reports relating to the discriminatory chant, those will be passed on to the governing body and the perpetrators can expect to face punishment.”
A spokesperson for United told the Independent that the club has “zero-tolerance” towards racism and they are seeking specialist advice on the matter.
