Actress Cara Delevingne is the latest person to come forward and state that Harvey Weinstein made inappropriate sexual advances towards them.

The film producer was recently sacked from the board of The Weinstein Company, the company he co-founded, after a string of alleged sexual harassment accusations were made public.

Suicide Squad and Paper Towns star Delevingne said that the shamed film producer tried to get her to engage in a threesome with him and another woman in a New York hotel room.

In a post that was shared on Instagram, the 25-year-old British actress said that the incident took place when she was meeting Weinstein in the lobby of a hotel to discuss future projects.

“When I first started to work as an actress, I was working on a film and I received a call from‎ Harvey Weinstein asking if I had slept with any of the women I was seen out with in the media. It was a very odd and uncomfortable call. I answered none of his questions and hurried off the phone but before I hung up, he said to me that If I was gay or decided to be with a woman especially in public that I’d never get the role of a straight woman or make it as an actress in Hollywood,” said Delevingne.

She adds: “I went to a meeting with him in the lobby of a hotel with a director about an upcoming film. The director left the meeting and Harvey asked me to stay and chat with him. As soon as we were alone he began to brag about all the actresses he had slept with and how he had made their careers and spoke about other inappropriate things of a sexual nature. He then invited me to his room.”

The story continues: “I quickly declined and asked his assistant if my car was outside. She said it wasn’t and wouldn’t be for a bit and I should go to his room,’ said Delevingne. At that moment I felt very powerless and scared but didn’t want to act that way hoping that I was wrong about the situation. When I arrived I was relieved to find another woman in his room and thought immediately I was safe.He asked us to kiss and she began some sort of advances upon his direction.I swiftly got up and asked him if he knew that I could sing. And I began to sing….i thought it would make the situation better….more professional….like an audition. I was so nervous. After singing I said again that I had to leave.”

I still got the part for the film and always thought that he gave it to me because of what happened. Since then I felt awful that I did the movie. I felt like I didn’t deserve the part. I was so hesitant about speaking out….I didn’t want to hurt his family. I felt guilty as if I did something wrong. I was also terrified that this sort of thing had happened to so many women I know but no one had said anything because of fear.

After posting her story, the actress then shared these words on Instagram because she wants “women and girls to know that being harassed or abused or raped is NEVER their fault.”

Delevingne is just one of the many women that have shared similar stories of alleged sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct from Weinstein.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Lea Seydoux, Rosanna Arquette, Ashley Judd, Heather Graham, Asia Argento are just some of the women that have spoken to The New York Times, The New Yorker and various other outlets.

In the aftermath of these stories being made public, Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman has announced that she’s leaving him.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hosts the Oscars, have also condemned Weinstein’s behaviour by stating that they find these allegations to be “repugnant” and “abhorrent.” They’re holding a meeting on Saturday to discuss the need to take any further action.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have also condemned the behaviour of the shamed film producer.

In an interview with Deadline, Damon denied trying to prevent a 2004 story about Weinstein’s inappropriate sexual behaviour from being published. “If there was ever an event and Harvey was doing this…I would have stopped it,” said the actor in the wide-ranging interview.

Both men would have worked with Weinstein on projects like Good Will Hunting and Shakespeare in Love.

Here’s the statement that Affleck released via Twitter.

Weinstein’s spokeswoman responded to certain allegations in a statement that was released on Tuesday.

“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances. He will not be available for further comments, as he is taking the time to focus on his family, on getting counseling and rebuilding his life,” she said.

In terms of the most recent developments, TMZ have reported that local police responded to a 911 call at the Los Angeles home of Weinstein’s daughter, Remy.

They state that law enforcement sources said told police that her father was “suicidal and depressed.”
