Don’t expect to see Jose Mourinho enjoying a cheeky can of Carabao any time soon.
While the Manchester United boss received arguably the most favourable tie when the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw was *eventually* made on Thursday afternoon, Mourinho was not pleased about the shambolic nature of it.
Almost every round of draws in this season’s League Cup has brought about some issue or another and the trouble of this week’s pairing-up of the competition’s last eight was twofold.

Firstly, the draw was delayed by over two hours due to a technical glitch with Twitter, where the draw was supposed to be streamed live.
But a second problem arrived when a solution could not be found for the first issue as the decision was made to pre-record the draw and publish the video after teams had been matched up.

Understandable concerns about the legitimacy of the draw were raised and even though United’s quarter-final, a trip to Bristol City in December, is one of the easier ones on paper, Mourinho is not happy about the lack of transparency with the drawing process.
“Which draw? I’m not [happy],” Mourinho said during Friday’s press conference.
“First of all, because I didn’t watch the draw and what I watched was not a live draw, were some images of a draw. But no, I didn’t like it.
“I like the draw, I like to see it, I like to feel it. I didn’t like it, not at all.”
Reigning League Cup champions United secured a spot in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory at Swansea midweek and, with Bristol City being the only non-Premier League side remaining in the competition, the Red Devils should be considerable favourites to progress to the semi-finals.
Bristol manager Lee Johnson is certainly happy with the high-profile fixture, however, and is displaying no fear of the Premier League giants.
