Juan Mata is a lovely man.
When he’s not busy being good at football or penning his surprisingly well-written blogs, he’s encouraging his fellow professional footballers to donate some of their extremely healthy wage packets to those in need.
With all this in mind, it’s little surprise that so many people think so much of the attacking midfielder.
Take David De Gea, for example.
The Manchester United goalkeeper was the only Spaniard on the books at the 20-times English champions until Mata arrived from Chelsea in January 2014. Since then, it’s clear the pair have struck up a very close friendship.
As pointed out by a tweet sent by Mata on Monday evening, De Gea’s fondness for the United number eight is written all over his face…
Find someone who looks at you the way @D_DeGea looks at me. pic.twitter.com/MxZoAGyjqR

The tweet was enjoyed by United supporters, swiftly amassing thousands of retweets, and spawning replies aplenty. Top marks for this one, however, which is absolutely magnificent.
