Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, good! Would any of your mates eat this?
In the grand pantheon of Joey Tribbiani’s iconic history with food, it takes a very special meal to take the accolade of ‘Joey’s best food moment.’
Who could forget the time he got his head stuck up the turkey’s ass? What about that scary period when his fridge broke and he had to eat everything? Then again, it’s very hard to top that date when we all learned that Joey’s ‘not even sorry’ for stealing some dessert.
What a hero.
Given the fact that Joey has even invented his own special – two pizzas! – it’s clear that the Days of Our Lives actor is a bottomless pit of hunger, but greatness has to start somewhere and Joey’s feat during the ’99 Thanksgiving holidays was enough to earn him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Well, we think he deserves a place in the history books because we all remember that scene when he absolutely horsed down the rotten trifle that Rachel made.
It might taste like feet to Ross, but Joey couldn’t get enough of the following; a layer of ladyfingers, a layer of jam, custard (made from scratch), raspberries, more ladyfingers, beef sautéed with peas and onions, a little more custard, sliced bananas and whipped cream.
In honour of this grand tradition, plenty of American Friends fans have made Rachel’s trifle and we can expect the meat sweats to arrive any minute now.
