Anthony Joshua reveals his favourite stoppage so far

It was a brutal one

Anthony Joshua was spoiled for choice.

The WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion had 20 knockouts/TKOs to pick from when asked to name his favourite but he had to cast his mind back three years to come up with the one of which he’s most proud.

One might have expected ‘AJ’ to plump for his insanely dramatic 11th round stoppage of Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko in April or his flatlining of Raphael Zumbano Love in 2015 but you’d be wrong on both counts.

Rather, the undefeated 28-year-old named his first-round stoppage of Michael Sprott in Liverpool in 2014 as his favourite.

“My favourite one honestly was Michael Sprott because he went on the ropes and I’ve just worked his body all the way up to the top of his head,” Joshua told Dubai Eye Sport.

“It was just a good display of switch up attacks – to the body then switch to the head. You  just can’t see where the punches are coming from, and that’s why I like that knockout.”

In case you needed any reminding of just how brutal Joshua’s relentless onslaught was on 22 November, 2014, you can watch the below footage of his tenth career stoppage.

It was absolutely devastating!
