Tyson Fury’s been known to say some outlandish things in his time.
But the controversial heavyweight managed to keep his cool with his response to Chris Eubank’s recent insult.
Eubank suggested that Fury had never learned to fight properly and that his knack for trash-talking far exceeded his ability in the boxing ring.
“Tyson Fury, at one time, was learning to box,” Eubank said on talkSPORT.
“He had a fight, he won that fight and then he imploded.
“He only got to apprenticeship position, as far as I was concerned, and then he stopped learning.
“Everyone is talking about a fighter who speaks very well in terms of getting people’s attention, but he didn’t learn to fight.”
The undefeated Fury was quick to respond to Eubank’s quite unfair claim about the former world heavyweight champion.
Fury hasn’t fought since his comprehensive victory over Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in 2015, when he unified the heavyweight division in stunning style.
But Fury’s time at the top was short-lived as he saw rematches with the Ukrainian cancelled due to a series of issues on Fury’s part; including injury, psychological troubles and traces of cocaine showing up in a blood test.
The 29-year-old is on the comeback trail now, with a UK Anti-Doping hearing slated for next month ahead of a return in 2018, and you really couldn’t call his response to Eubank anything other than reasonable.
“Mornings guys, I just read Chris Eubank’s comments on me and how I’d not learned to fight and whatever,” Fury said.

“Do you know what I’ve got to say to you Chris? A lot of people would look up to you and whatever, and you did achieve some great things, but to try and downplay my achievements when I’ve dedicated my whole life to something, and to try and say bad things, it’s just not called for because the truth of the matter is you only won one belt in your division, I won five in mine – four heavyweight championships of the world, and a Ring magazine belt and Fighter of the Year.
“So when someone dedicates their full life to doing something, and then to try to get downplayed for it by somebody who didn’t achieve half as much, that’s very disrespectful and very distasteful. But good luck in your life and your career.”
