Amir Khan criticised for tweet to Manny Pacquiao

Fresh out of the I’m a Celeb jungle, Amir Khan is back on social media.

The British boxer remained in Australia to be present for Jeff Horn’s first defence of his WBO welterweight title on Wednesday but it’s safe to say that Khan was not impressed by Horn’s showing as he stopped Gary Corcoran in the 11th round in Brisbane.

Corcoran remained in the fight up to the midway point but Horn’s superior quality became telling after round six and as the damage mounted on Corcoran’s face, the Australian champion came out on top.

Horn’s previous fight was the one which saw him move from relatively unheralded challenger to world champion as he beat Manny Pacquiao in a close and somewhat controversial fight in July.

In spite of his recent spell in the jungle, Khan maintains that he is eager to continue his boxing career and he’s quickly returned to pursuing big fights.

Khan’s response to Horn’s TKO win was to drop a double insult as he mocked Pacquiao for ducking him in favour of what he perceived to be a lesser opponent.

Khan was supposed to get a shot at ‘Pac-man’ in April but that fight never came to fruition and the Filipino legend ended up meeting Horn three months later.

It’s clear that ‘King’ wants to make the Pacquiao fight happen in 2018 but his decision to criticise the former eight-division world champion did not go down well at all as fight fans hit back at Khan for his decision to pursue a payday on reality television rather than concentrate on fighting.
