Dinamo Zagreb v Arsenal – Player ratings

Fell like Dinamos...

Nooruddean Choudry

Starting XI:

Ospina – 5

Gave everyone around him the jitters. Went walkies far too often. A liability.

Debuchy – 3

Very poor. Positionally all over the place and painfully inferior to Bellerin.

Gabriel – 8

Apart from a late brain fart, a rare positive for Arsenal. Strong and rugged – a proper defender.

Koscielny – 7

Was solid enough, but wasn’t helped by some of his teammates.

Gibbs – 5

Culpable for the second goal and generally poor. What’s happened to him?

Cazorla – 6

Ineffectual, but it’s not his fault he was picked in a midfield two with Arteta.

Arteta – 3

Painful. A fine player at his best but an absolute passenger on the night.

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 4

Along with Gibbs, part of the ‘axis of shiteness’ on the left. Tactically so naive.

Ozil – 6

Did his best to prod and probe, and showed more desire than others.

Sanchez – 6

Marooned. Starved. Wasn’t quite on his game but didn’t see the ball.

Giroud – 2

Was poor prior to the sending off and should have buried his chance.

Subs:

Campbell – 6

Rusty, wasteful and gave away needless fouls. But at least he put in a shift.

Coquelin – 7

How Arsenal missed him. They looked far more cohesive when he came on.

Walcott – 8

Lovely finish and a constant worry for Dinamo. Why the f*ck didn’t he start?
