Respect the ref, they say…
Okay, we can safely say we’ve never seen anything like this before.
Paris Saint-Germain claimed victory at Nantes on Sunday night by a single Angel Di Maria goal. That, however, wasn’t the major talking point. Instead, that came courtesy of referee Tony Chapron in stoppage time at the end of the game.
With PSG on the hunt for a second goal, Chapron wandered across the path of Nantes’ Diego Carlos, who appeared to inadvertently trip the official as a result.
Having tumbled to the floor, Chapron then seemed to kick out at the Nantes player, who appeared utterly bemused by the incident. Then, to make matters worse, Chapron then saw fit to send Carlos off for the incident.
Have a look.
