Dear oh dear…
Diving, simulation, deceiving the referee, whatever you wanna call it, is constantly the subject of much debate in football. For some people, it’s the lowest of the low; those who dive bring the game into disrepute. For others, it’s merely another form of gamesmanship, of which there are many in football, like a cynical shirt pull.
Whatever your stance, everyone will be in agreement that this is one of the worst dives of all time. There’s not even a hint of Malcom’s legs tangling with the Lyon defender.
The chop to cut inside demonstrated the winger’s supreme skillset, but as he realised that Ferland Mendy was going to retrieve the ball before he could get a shot away, he hit the deck.

Put the morally dubious nature of diving to one side and you have to applaud his execution of the fall. It’s easy to see why the referee was fooled by his theatrics.
Malcom has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham this January as they look to recruit a winger to add a new dimension to their attack. Recently, however, PSG’s Lucas Moura has emerged as another possible candidate to join make the journey from Ligue 1 to join Spurs.
Someone should warn Malcom that this sort of thing doesn’t go down well in the Premier League before he makes any decision on his future.
