Arsene Wenger has identified a new striker for the January transfer window

He won't be cheap...

Arsenal were tipped by many to have a serious crack at the Premier League title this year, but their start could have been better.

Defeat to Chelsea follows an opening day home loss to West Ham and further dropped points when an underwhelming Liverpool visited the Emirates.

One of the main criticisms of Arsene Wenger this season has been his failure to bring in another striker to the club.

A summer filled with rumours of a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema amounted to nothing, and an injury to Danny Welbeck has left Arsenal short of striking options.

It now appears that Wenger will move to address this in the January window with the Daily Star suggesting Wenger could move for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian has reportedly been added to the Arsenal boss’ wish list, but he won’t be cheap: his club value the 21-year-old at  £22m.
