The Great British Bake Off returned last night for a very special cause.
The beloved baking series aired the first of its Stand Up To Cancer episodes on Tuesday, which proved to (almost) be a huge hit with viewers.
But there was one moment in particular that people weren’t a huge fan of – and it involves Mary Berry.
The GBBO legend left the series alongside Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc after opting not to move from the BBC to Channel 4.
She got a shout out on the series this week when Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith judged Harry Hill’s cupcakes, each of which contained a message hidden inside.

After the judges complimented his bake, host Sandi Toksvig asked if they could “read another fortune.”
She opened up and burst into laughter as she read what was written.
When asked by Paul what it said, she replied:
“A copy of Mary Berry’s birth certificate.”
And while everyone on the show laughed at the quip, people watching at home didn’t find it as amusing.
Plenty of viewers appreciated the nod to Mary, with one person saying their “Bake Off has been made” by the reference.
